Best Actress for the Best Performance!

Recently petitions have been circulating demanding that Lily Gladstone receive the Oscar for Best Actress, because she is an indigenous woman. These awards should be given for merit, not based on race, ethnicity, etc. Ms. Gladstone gave a marvelous performance and richly deserves her Oscar Nomination and perhaps the Academy Award itself. But if she receives it, the decision should be made on the quality of her performance measured against the performances of the other nominees, not to favor a member of a traditionally under represented ethnic group.

Academy voters should vote for the best performance, not the most politically correct choice!
