Save Sweet Water Place and cemeteries

    Restore Sweet Water Place

Sweet Water Plantation holds a special place in my heart, as it does for many others in Florence, Alabama. It's one of the few Historical places we have left. The people buried there and the home itself are intricial parts of our history that need to be saved. The plantation dates back to 1835 has been a cornerstone of our community ever since. It's cemeteries hold generations of Florence citizens, their stories etched into stone monuments and other graves unmarked and laying silent as silent witnesses to our past. These cemeteries are not just burial grounds, they are a open History Books where we can learn about the lives before us .However this invaluable piece of Heritage is under threat.due to neglect and lack of preservation efforts without immediate action we risk losing an irreplaceable part of our cultural identity Lets honor those came before us by preserving their final resting place a testament to their lives and contributions towards building the community we live in today.
