Charge the criminals who assaulted Bronze Star recipient Chris Marquez with a hate crime.

Chris Marquez was deliberately targeted because of the color of his skin. True equality sees no color in the United States. If we truly are a nation of laws, charge the individuals who beat and robbed Chris Marquez because of his race with a hate crime. Prove that everyone will be protected under the law of the United States of America!

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigations https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/investigate/civilrights/hate_crimes/overview a hate crime is defined as follows:

"For the purposes of collecting statistics, the FBI has defined a hate crime as a “criminal offense against a person or property motivated in whole or in part by an offender’s bias against a race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender, or gender identity.” Hate itself is not a crime—and the FBI is mindful of protecting freedom of speech and other civil liberties."

According to Marquez, he was approached by two black individuals and asked "do black lives matter?". He was then hit in the back of the head with a pistol and robbed.
