It's been 21 years since Sir Peter Jackson (director of "The Hobbit" trilogy and the "Lord of the Rings"-trilogy, to name a few) directed and released the film "Heavenly Creatures, a film based on the shocking true story of the Parker-Hulme case.
In 1954, 16-year old Pauline Parker and 15-year old Juliet Hulme murdered Pauline's mother Honora, and the trial that following dealt with lesbianism, insanity and psychology, to name a few. Both girls were sentenced to prison.
In 1994 Peter Jackson released "Heavenly Creatures", and he introduced two actresses in the process: Kate Winslet (of "Titanic") starred in her first role as Juliet Hulme, and Melanie Lynskey (of "Two and a half men") portrayed Pauline Parker.
The film has since become a cult phenomena, with millions of fans worldwide.
Sadly, on the DVDs and Blu-rays that exist today, there are no behind-the-scenes featurettes, and no audio commentary by the director and/or producer, the actors involved, etc. The film is also without subtitles in any language.
The wonderful soundtrack to the film (which includes Kate Winslet singing "Sono Andati" from La Boheme in a hauntingly beautiful fashion) is nowhere to be found in record stores.
After 21 years, we say it's high time to re-release "Heavenly Creatures" on DVD/Blu-ray and complete it with behind-the-scenes material, subtitles, info and pictures of the real Pauline and Juliet, including "What happened after the trial", bloopers, interviews, and audio commentary from all actors involved, and from Sir Peter Jackson himself.
We also say it's high time and then some to release the soundtrack to "Heavenly Creatures" on CD and on iTunes for the world to enjoy once more and for many years to come.

I have been informed that the film exist on Blu-ray as well as DVD. What I am still hoping for is a release with the behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, etc. In his later productions, Sir Peter Jackson has included hours of behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, I see no reason why this should be an exception. Please pass the petition on to others via email, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, blogs and the like. Hopefully we can get to 2000 signatures soon :)

What I'm hoping for with this petition is to see the film released in formats available throughout the world, Blu-Ray, and including interviews with everyone involved and actor's commentary. So far I've received 11 signatures, and I'm grateful for them. Please encourage others to sign this too!
