Save MASSACHUSETTS Senior Programs

Yesterday we were informed MassHealth is threatening to have several thousand Seniors removed from their Day Care Programs. This will effect 6,000 Seniors in Massachusetts, including my Grandmother, with Dementia, who currently attends this day care facility. Masshealth is claiming that unless the Senior needs full monitoring/assistance they will be discharged from the program...that is being paid for already, out of pocket. This is extremely horrible considering the facility my grandmother attends (since 2015) is a place she has friends, plays games and looks forward to every day. Without this place, she would be depressed and have no where to spend her days. PLEASE WRITE TO MASSHEALTHPUBLICNOTICE@STATE.MA.EDU to let them know this is an abhorrent way to treat our Seniors. Our family is appauled at the prospect of my grandmother losing access to this facility for no legitimate reason at all. Horrible, horrible way for the state of MA to treat elderly.
