Recently, there has been a petition created to try and down grade a qualified and dedicated math teacher, Ms. Fortune, at Sedro-Woolley High School. I was a student of Ms.Fortune. It has been addressed that all she does is down grade and talk negative towards her students. These people claim she is toxic to the education system at Sedro-Woolley High School and is not there to help the students better themselves or their education. I am here, as living proof that those statements are more than false. I struggled with math in high school, I failed 2 classes. Without the dedicated time and help of Ms. Fortune, I would have never understood math enough to graduate from high school. The fact that she took the time to help me understand in a fun and non stressful way, is the reason why I enjoy doing math still to this day. I will be graduating with a degree in Accounting Ms. Fortune is the reason behind my motivation and inspiration. I know there are more of people like me out there! Let's give this math teacher the credit and recognition she deserves!!!
