Fairfax County has just been hit with a massive amount of snow. The totals we saw haven't been seen since the Blizzard of 2016. While many streets have been plowed, there are still several areas of the county that are virtually untouched. Black ice is common and will continue to form in the morning. If we were to have school tomorrow, it would impose safety hazards on students all across the county. In the past, there have been several reports of injuries due to FCPS not having discretion when deciding whether or not to close. In fact, there were several injuries and crashes today, Tuesday, January 15, 2019, due to the inability of the school board to put student safety above all. We need to FCPS to close tomorrow, for the safety of our students and staff.
