Demand Severe punishment for Online Impersonation

Stricter reinforcement and punishment for violating online impersonation will not only keep social media and online accounts more honest, but it will also end many dangerous encounters between strangers as online dating and "Catfishing" becomes more popular. The existing fines for fake profile accounts is $1000, which is sometimes less than violating the use of the carpool lane on California freeways. It is important for not only employees but also companies and employers to be confident in the individuals they interact with online. A strict enforcement of fake profiling can prevent online stalking, harassment, and cyberbullying. A law against cyberbullying was enforced in 2011 based upon California penal code 528.5, yet there is still a need for stricter punishment as fake profiling and "Catfishing" is becoming increasingly popular.
