No Child Left Behind

For the 2017-18 school year, any child entering Kindergarten, JCPS will be changing the registration age cutoff date from October 1st to August 1st. This is an unfair change for any child who was born in the months of August and September. This change will cause 4 year olds who would turn 5 within those months to be ineligible to begin Kindergarten. Those 4 year olds will now be one year behind in every grade moving forward, and with the Kentucky "No Child Left Behind" concept, the new change in cutoff dates will indeed leave our children behind.
This petition is a request to retract the change in age cutoff date for children entering Kindergarten.
