Stand with DC students

Washington DC is one of the fastest-improving urban school districts in the nation.

Achievement scores in math and reading are on the rise. Enrollment in public schools is up, dropout rates are down, and graduation rates have increased for five straight years.

While we’ve made significant progress over the past decade, significant work remains. As DC’s population grows, it shouldn’t be the case that there aren’t enough seats in top-performing schools in DC. We need to fight for policies that guarantee all of our students, regardless of zip code, access to high-quality public schools across the District. We need to improve academic performance, school culture, and safety, particularly in the bottom 20% of our public schools. We need elected and civic leaders who understand that we can't afford to wait for better schools.
