False Advertising on Packaging of Strawberry Shortcake Dolls
The advertising and packaging for the Bandai America Strawberry Shortcake doll line is misleading. We often don't get what we think we've bought due to the discrepancies between what is shown on the packaging and what is actually inside the box/package.
The advertising for the Bandai America Strawberry Shortcake Doll line is misleading. Most of the product packaging show images of 'better quality' dolls than what is actually inside the package. We get dolls with missing clothing articles and badly cut hair. Sometimes accessories that are shown on the packaging are different than what is included or not included at all. Sometimes the product inside the packaging does not even do what it says it will do. For example the Strawberry Scented Home Furnishings Kitchen set shows a picture of the included sink on the back of the box with this caption: "Fun Sink Sounds!" After purchasing, opening and fully examining the product, the fact is that the sink is not capable of making any 'fun sink sounds!" as there is no place for a battery, there is no on or off switch and no speaker. In fact the sink is hollow. We as the consumers often feel "short-changed" and/or dissatisfied with our purchase because we are shown something 'better' on the packaging then what we actually get. We want the images on the packaging and the statements made about the product on the packaging to accurately detail what is in the package. We want our dolls to have a full head of hair...not just what you can see sticking out from underneath the hat he/she is wearing. The hat comes off and we and our daughters are disappointed that our dolls are bald on top!
