So we are hitting the streets to let the public know on what we are doing and what we hope comes of it.. We will be doing some fundrasing to help in the purchase of the building.
We already have a van that was donated to us for a car bashing fundraiser where people can come and pay money to hit the car with a sledge hammer.. What we also have in mind is a poker run, bake sale, and auction where people donate merchandise and we auction it off to help in the purchase of the building..

Our
Plans for the The Building is to do some remodeling by fixing the current bathrooms, doing a new paint job in and out, and adding in some
new walls. Some other things that are up for disscussion are adding a Computer Lab, Pool Tables, Basketball Court & Sand Volleyball
outside, Snack Shop in the current resturant area, Sitting area with couches and other seatting, Meeting room for meetings, discussions or
even a book club.
Activites at The Building would included the following; After School Programs, Tutors, Big Brother Big Sister Group, Movie Night with a wall screen, Book Clubs. The Building Would be Non Profit and would only be funded by donations and grants.

"Please Note" that this is an update the petiton below is no longer being used. we have went a different direction and are not focusing on the Fair Building. And yes the petiton is still available we just changed it. All tho people signed this petiton for the stop of the sale. We have changed it and it will cover the topic above. Jackson County has a proposal to build a new, $4.1 million fairgrounds. The Jackson County Fair Association and Jackson County Development Corporation have been working together since October 2005 in developing a plan to build the new fairgrounds. Executive Director Said supporters hope the sale of the fairgrounds will bring in $ 1.5 million of the $ 4.1 millions needed for the project. Executive Director said the current fairgrounds could be developed into a retail / commercial site that would bring new jobs to Holton and increase sales and property tax.
This Petition is to stop the Sale of the Jackson County Fair Building, but not the Fair Grounds. I plan to take in a proposal to turn the current Fair Building, into a Community Building that would serve to the public. My plans for the Community Building is to do some remodeling put in a Fitness Gym area with Cardio Equipment, Basketball/Volleyball Court, Putting in new bathrooms and locker area, Add a Computer lab, Pool Tables, Snack Shop with couches and other seating, and a Place to have Meetings, discussions or a book club. Activities would included the following, after school program, Tutors, Big Brother Big Sisters Group, Movie Night, Book club, Pilates & Yoga Lessons, Fitness Classes, Fitness Assessments, Group Exercise classes. The Community Building would be Non-Profit and Would only be funded by Donations & Grants.
