Expand Road or Construct Path/Sidewalk along Route 117 in Palmyra for Runners/Cyclists

Route 117 in Palmyra, PA, also known as Forge Road is a two lane road that is traveled by many. Some of its travelers go beyond motor vehicles. There are people who use this route to travel from Campbell town into the Borough of Palmyra. Those who have to make this trip, are at a high risk of being hit by passing motor vehiclists. Route 117 has a long stretch between Lebanon valley Family Medicine and Reigles Airport.
During that stretch the speed limit raises to 40mph. This could be fatal for anybody using this road on foot or on bicycle.
I have witnessed many PASD high school and middle school students use 117 as a daily commute by foot.  It raises a safety concern.

 - September of 2016 a woman and her son were hit while riding bike on Forge road. Thankfully they were okay, but this should pose as a warning sign.

I have hope for a trail designated to the safety of those traveling on 117 to be built. To honor good health and exercise within our community we must make the environment safer and more conducive.

Moreover, the road being too narrow for such a busy route involves waste management and postal services occupying half a lane leaving very little room for the rest of traffic to pass safely.

Consider the possibilities..
