Help Our Veterans Get the Support They Have Earned

Veteran unemployment is twice the national average. One third of American homeless citizens are Veterans. There is a backlog of 1.2 million VA benefit claims and 33 percent of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or Traumatic Brain Injury.

These men and women have served and sacrificed for our freedom. They deserve better.

Help us get out Veterans the help they have earned. Tell House Committee on Veterans Affairs Ranking Member Bob Filner to support out Veterans through legislation and resource allocation.
Dear Chairman Filner,

As Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs, you have been a tremendous advocate for our U.S. Military Veterans, helping them receive greater access to the benefits and services they need and have earned with their service and sacrifice.

[Your comments will be added here]

As you know, many of our Veterans are returning home from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan suffering from physical and psychological wounds. Veteran unemployment is nearly double the national average. One out of every three homeless citizens in America is a Veteran. The backlog of VA benefits claims is now well over 1 million. More Veterans return home every day, and without effective legislation and adequate funding, these problems will only get worse.

I urge you to do everything in your power to continue to support our Veterans through legislation and resource allocation to provide them with the help they deserve.
