Stop Threatening Reproductive Rights!

Mississippi citizens will soon vote on the Personhood Bill which would define the beginning to life as the moment of fertilization. Sadly, this bill will go beyond simply challenging reproductive personal freedom.

The bill also threatens contraceptives like the morning after pill, and in vitro fertilization. During the procedure several eggs are fertilized and a select few are then implanted as implanting all of them is a threat to the woman's health. The law would make it illegal to dispose of excess fertilized eggs and even opens up the possibility of freezing them to accusations of child abuse. It also decreases women's access to health care.

No child should be forced into life into conditions that do not allow for a safe and stable environment. Don't let women once get get robbed of this very important and personal decision. Tell Mississippi legislators to stop the bill from being passed.
Ballot Measure 26, the "Personhood Anmendment" is a threat to the health and personal freedom of Mississippi women. The bill seeks to radically change the definition of a person in a way that presents a wide range of problems.

The bill seeks to tell a woman what to do with her family. Bringing a child into the world is a personal decision and should not be legislated by the government in this way. Furthermore, it presents problems for couples seeking in vitro fertilization as it makes part of the practice, disposing of excess eggs, illegal. It also threatens women's access to proper reproductive health care.

This bill creates problems for the state on a far grander scale that simply outlawing abortion. It infringes on the reproductive rights of women as well as threatens the livelihood of medical procedures that would otherwise be safe and life changing. Protect Mississippi women by ensuring that this bill does not get passed.
