Sudanese refugees in Egypt are dying slowly before our eyes, and we remain silent! More than 672,930 Sudanese who fled the hell of war in Sudan have found themselves in Egypt without shelter, food, or medicine. The UNHCR's support is almost nonexistent. Rents in Cairo, Giza, Faisal, Badr, Alexandria, Aswan, and other areas have tripled or quadrupled since 2023. Refugees are not permitted to work. Winter has arrived, and the children are barefoot and shivering from the cold. There are no jackets, no blankets, no heaters. The father works all day with laborers to earn 200 Egyptian pounds, which isn't enough for the day's needs. Hunger is killing now. Cold is killing now. Sickness is killing now. School-aged children are working with laborers instead of attending school; they can't afford the fees. The war hasn't ended for a year, in addition to the diseases and epidemics. Sudanese refugees in Egypt don't need words and sympathy on social media. We urgently need money transferred now for: - A jacket, blanket, and heater before the child freezes to death. - A food basket sufficient for a family for a month. - School fees so the child doesn't lose their future. - Medicine for the mother who has high blood pressure and diabetes and can't afford it. Every pound you transfer saves a life. No one has asked themselves how we've been surviving since 2023. Most Sudanese in Egypt rely on their relatives abroad who help them. The burden has become heavy on these expatriates after the price hikes. It's your duty to help them. We didn't ask for help from the beginning of the war because we are a people who support each other, but the war has dragged on, the economy has deteriorated, and the UNHCR has been unable to provide anything. Now it's your turn to help us. Awafi Community Initiative For the care of refugees and migrants in Egypt
