Michigan – Move Forward to Implement Animal Cruelty Registry to Protect Animals

Michigan State does show great concern about animal cruelty and abuse with their own version of an animal abuse registry.  Major steps need to be taken to stop such cruelty which is why I am working diligently, state by state to ensure they each implement an animal cruelty registry as a major tool to protect poor defenseless animals.  Read more on Michigan’s approach at http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2013/08/04/proposed-animal-abuser-registry-dropped-in-michigan/

The proposed animal cruelty registry would require anyone guilty of any type of animal abuse, cruelty and neglect to be placed on this database, requiring that it be updated on a regular basis.  Additionally, these abusers need to be banned from future pet ownership or ever working with or caring for them for a lifetime.  The database should then be shared with all breeders, shelters, pet shops and others in the pet industry as a mandatory resource.

My effort in this petition is to encourage Michigan legislators to strictly consider the implementation and enforcement of an animal cruelty registry database.  This is a crucial preventative step in preventing animal abuse and cruelty.  You can help in this endeavor by signing and sharing this petition, adding your own thoughts and comments.  Take a stand with me and speak out for those poor defenseless animals without a voice.

Michigan State Legislators – I strongly urge you to implement and strictly enforce an animal cruelty registry that would be similar in stature to that of child abusers and sex offenders.  Any person that is found guilty of any type of animal abuse, cruelty and neglect needs to be placed on this database, requiring that it be updated on a regular basis.  Additionally, these abusers need to be banned from future pet ownership or ever working with or caring for them for a lifetime.  The database should then be shared with all breeders, shelters, pet shops and others in the pet industry as a mandatory resource. Please take a step in protecting these defenseless animals and be their voice.  This is the only way to give them the protection they need.
