I was just watching a PETA Draw My Life video about a goose on a farm that supplies Canada Goose. The goose, named Gabby, was born in a cramped, chaotic building with loads of other geese and got pushed to ground/floor. She made a best friend named Melvin. They were let outside, but there were still loads of them. Gabby thought 💠she was free, but she discovered that they were fenced in.
A flock of wild geese flew by, flying free and living natural, good lives, yet Gabby, Melvin and the others were still cramped up together and didn't have any shelter from the scorching 🥵 sun, the freezing cold 🥶 or the rain 🌧. Gabby got to socialise with one of the wild geese and he told her that she would never get to learn to swim or fly, or raise a family, because they were there to be exploited, used and abused by humans.
The men came and started grabbing the geese. Melvin died. The other geese were crammed on top of one another and sent to be killed by a mechanical blade.
Canada Geese may be fully conscious when they're sliced across their throats and put in scalding hot 🥵 water to de-feather them for the feathers to be used by Canada Goose as "down".
Coyotes, too, suffer horrendously, only for profit, for their fur to be used to line Canada Goose's jackets. Animals trapped for their fur endure very bad pain and gruesome injuries. They also suffer starvation, distress and despair 😩. They are at risk of developing infection and/or gangrene. If they are still alive when the trapper comes, they may be killed by shooting, suffocation and/or bludgeoning. The dependent pups/cubs/other young of any females trapped are almost sure to die of starvation, predation or other causes.
There is so much faux fur and synthetic materials used in coats, jackets, etc. these days that Canada 🇨🇦 Goose should be able to use only synthetic/plant-based natural materials...
3.1 Phillip Lim, ASOS, Bloomingdale's, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Coach, Diane von Furstenberg, Farfetch, Furla, Gap Inc., Giorgio Armani, Gucci, H&M, J.Crew, Jean Paul Gaultier, Jimmy Choo, John Galliano, Macy's, Mango, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Topshop, Urban Outfitters, Versace, Victoria Beckham, Vivienne Westwood and YOOX-NET-A-PORTER are all examples of fur-free companies. Why can't Canada 🇨🇦 Goose join them? Burberry went fur-free following outcry from animal rights activists, including a petition that I set up. Why can't Canada 🇨🇦 Goose do the same?
The time is NOW. Please stop selling and using products of cruelty. We will boycott Canada 🇨🇦 Goose and encourage others to do the same until you stop selling and using fur, down and all products of cruelty. Please also donate any items with products of cruelty and all other unsold/unsellable items to the homeless and needy, and/or to good, ethical and animal-friendly charity shops.
