Argentina: Protect your Wild Animals from Tourists!

  • by: Paige D

A baby dolphin died for an Instagram photo.

Scientists believe that dolphins, like whales, have a tendency to come to shallow water if they become ill. When a baby dolphin came to shore in Argentina, tourists were more concerned with getting a picture with the animal... instead of helping rescue the baby dolphin by returning the animal back into the water.

Completely unconcerned with the welfare of the animal, tourists continued to crowd, take pictures, and touch the baby dolphin while it proceeded to die.

Argentina does not currently support the Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare; which helps reduce suffering, prevent animal cruelty, and promote standards for the welfare of animals. Argentina also does not have any policies that regulate the improvement of animal welfare. This has factored into the country receiving an overall D rating in the protection of animals in a report issued by World Animal Protection.

No animal should have to endure such cruel and tragic fate.

Please sign to tell the President of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, to implement stricter laws and penalties for risking the welfare of any wild animal.

Dear Mauricio Macri, President of Argentina;

A baby dolphin dying due to unconcerned tourists is completely unacceptable. I strongly urge you to implement stricter laws and penalties for risking the welfare of any wild animal.

No animal should have to endure such cruel and tragic fate.
