Girl Scouts: We Want Gluten-Free Cookies!

We can all agree Girl Scout cookies are awesome. I do a little happy dance every time I see the girls set up downtown selling their sweet treats! But as Americans become more aware of food intolerances and allergies that make them sick, some of us are no longer able to enjoy the cookies we once looked forward to every year.

I used to love Samoas and Trefoils, but since I started a gluten-free diet, I can no longer buy Girl Scout cookies in my region!

The Girl Scouts currently offer 2 types of gluten-free cookies, but they are available only in select markets as long as supplies last -- which is not very long at all!

Kids and families with gluten intolerance are largely excluded from the annual cookie craze. And, even if they can get their hands on gluten-free Girl Scout cookies, both GF varieties (Toffee-tastic® and Trios) contain other allergens: milk, soy, eggs, peanuts.

I'd love if the Girl Scouts could use allergen-free ingredients AND have gluten-free options.

Please sign this petition if you'd like to see the Girl Scouts offer more gluten-free cookies, as well as cookies without other allergens. Let's teach girls about good nutrition and inclusion!
