Nonconsensual image sharing, more commonly known as revenge porn has happened to 1 in 25 Americans. It has many names: nonconsensual pornography (NCP), revenge porn, image abuse, sometimes sextortion, and more. While it goes by many names, the harm it does remains the same. NCP has long lasting consequences for those whose images are shared without their consent. It is also a civil rights issue that disproportionately impacts women and LGBTQ folx and is deeply rooted in gender based violence. It is our hope that by using our voices and dragging this issue into the light we can allow others to see they do not have to go at through this alone, in silence, or in shame.
