The People Have Spoken: Drop the Plan to End Medicare
As part of their radical Tea Party budget, House Republicans voted to end Medicare but protect tax breaks for millionaires, billionaires and Big Oil. The reckless plan, proposed by Congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, would end Medicare as we know it and leave countless seniors with no safety net.
This extremist agenda has been rejected by the American people -- including in a shocking defeat for Republicans in the special election for New York's 26th District.
But they still don't seem to understand: The American people don't want to endanger Medicare or cut funding for vital social programs in order to pay off corporate special interests.
It is unacceptable to balance the budget on the back of seniors or recklessly slash benefits that seniors have earned.
Tell Congressman Ryan and the House Republicans to once and for all drop their plan to end Medicare.
Dear [congressman],
Recently you voted to end Medicare as we know it, but protect tax breaks for millionaires, billionaires, and Big Oil. This reckless plan would leave countless seniors with no safety net.
