Demand Justice for Drogo!

  • recipient: Authorities in Tomah, Wisconsin
Saturday afternoon, after returning home from a funeral, we came home to get ready to begin our day with our 4 kids and our favorite boy Drogo. After letting Drogo outside (he was not left outside all day and we were outside at the time of the shooting), my husband and I walked inside to set some things down. As I walked back outside, I found our boxer Drogo laying in his own vomit and unconscious. I didn't know what had happened - he was just fine 2 minutes ago!

I yelled for my husband. Drogo was unresponsive and breathing heavy. That's when we noticed he had been shot. My 4 children screamed in horror, watching our baby slowly slip away. Do you know the kind of pain a mother feels listening to her kids screaming and crying?

I sent the kids inside for their own sakes. Frantic we called every vet we could. My husband went to our neighbors to find out if he knew anything. As my husband starting asking our neighbor Jeff Schroeder if he shot our dog, he didn't even let him ask the full question and he had already said he shot our dog. He stated he simply shot Drogo because he was in his yard.

Our baby is so goofy and so loving he didn't deserve this and he is fighting for his life right now! Jeff was arrested and made bail just 3 hours later after shooting Drogo while my kids and us were outside. Leaving him with a misdemeanor for now. He used a high power pellet gun shooting Drogo straight on in the chest and only missed his heart by centimeters. Drogo is now fighting to stay alive. Depending on if the bullet moves he may have to have emergency open heart surgery.

I'm not asking for money. I'm asking everyone to please get Jeff's name out there so he can not do this again to anyone and so he gets a felony that he deserves! This all happened at our home in Tomah, WI. I also ask everyone to please pray for our baby as he has a long road ahead of him! There is a lot of controversy over this because people think we weren't outside or watching Drogo or the kids. After reviewing our security cameras is when I found out that we were indeed outside at the time he was shot. I'm not the kind of person the leave my animals or children unattended. We have never had a problem before and never received any complaints. We didn't know he was bothering anyone. We live out in the country and here, your dogs are allowed to wander. They are, after all, just babies and curious.

My solution is to give this man the charge he deserves, which would be a felony for causing physical harm that may result in death for my dog.
