Tell CARE Research to Stop Testing on Beagles

Help end the cruelty now!

Right now beagles are suffering in cruel drug tests at CARE Research in Fort Collins, Colorado. The poor dogs are housed in such horrible conditions and treated so poorly that at least three dogs have been found dead in their cages.

It's widely known that testing drugs on animals leads to substandard results — there are much more modern, effective research methods available. Methods that don't harm innocent animals!

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) is doing everything possible to get CARE Research to shut down its dog labs and retire the 84 beagles to loving homes and you can help.

Sign the petition and ask CARE Research to STOP testing on innocent dogs once and for all.
Subject: Stop Testing on Beagles

To: Dr. Rajan Bawa

I am writing to ask that you stop testing drugs on dogs and adopt modern, human-relevant testing methods.

CARE Research has been cited for a number of federal animal care violations, including housing dogs in unsanitary conditions and for a lack of proper veterinary care. It's time to stop this animal cruelty.

As you may know, 96 percent of animal-tested drugs fail in humans. Using animals to understand drug activity in humans is poor science. There are a number of more effective nonanimal methods available that CARE Research can use including: microdosing, microphysiological systems, human cell-based methods, and computational methods.

I hope, for the sake of improving human health and animal welfare, that CARE Research will move toward nonanimal methods and permanently halt the use of beagles for testing.

Sincerely,
