Support 100% Renewable Energy at Barnard

Hello and welcome to Barnard for 100% Renewable Energy! We are a group of students committed to climate action and environmental justice on Barnard's campus. In the spring of 2017, Barnard's Board of Trustees announced their approval of a plan to divest from fossil fuel companies that deny or work to undermine climate science. This victory could not have been achieved without the incredible work of Divest Barnard, a student-organized campus campaign. We are here, nearly two years later, to ask Barnard's administration to take the next step in divestment, one which will lead the College to full independence from harmful fossil fuel companies. We are asking the administration to make a commitment to 100% renewable energy on campus by no later than 2040.

We have already met with members of the Barnard administration and they have expressed interest in making this commitment, provided that the College is able to identify a feasible path to 100% renewable energy on campus. Our role as student organizers is to generate positive student support for a commitment by the administration – we want to make the College's decision easier.

As we are in the beginning stages of this process, we are actively seeking students to join our team! To get involved or if you have any questions, please email barnardfor100@gmail.com.
