Support the Next Generation of Seeing Eye Dogs!

Jesse Acosta wasn’t always blind. While serving in Iraq, Jesse was permanently blinded in 2006 when shrapnel from an explosion struck him in the face. Left with substantial injuries, Jesse wondered how he would restore the freedom he once had.

Then Jesse met a very special German shepherd: his Seeing Eye® dog, Charlie Boy. For Jesse, training with a Seeing Eye dog was the start of a life-changing partnership.

'When I first met him, I almost cried. I knew he would guide me to freedom that I was told I would never have,' Jesse says.

With Charlie Boy by his side, Jesse’s mobility and self-confidence has returned. Charlie Boy has brought him the strength and calming influence he needed to recover and feel comfortable once again.
