Illness Doesn't Take A Vacation. Don't Let Your Neighbors Go Hungry This Summer.

"He told me to go home and pray." Three decades ago, that's the advice 25-year-old Sean's family doctor gave him when he was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and was given only six months to live.

But today, Sean is still going strong. He went on to graduate from college and worked for the U.S. government and national retailers for decades.

Sean credits Food & Friends' home-delivered, nutritious meals with helping him get to this day. For those with limited income, or no income, living with a serious illness like cancer or HIV/AIDS can come with seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Fortunately, Food & Friends is there to provide medically-tailored, delicious meals and groceries delivered by caring community members.

But now, in the midst of summer, people like Sean need your support more than ever.

Summer is one of the toughest and leanest times of the year at Food & Friends. Yet the population in the greater D.C. area is booming and the demand for our services is growing every day. To make matters worse, we've seen a steady decline in government funds, including funding for home-delivered nutrition services and food security.

It's up to us to spread the word that illness and hunger do not take a summer vacation.

Sign to spread the word and help Food & Friends ensure that more people like Sean receive the life-sustaining nourishment they need to thrive this summer.
