Congress: Don't Let Human Trafficking in the US Go Ignored!

All too often it's easy to pretend sex trafficking and sexual exploitation only happen in other countries. It can be hard to imaging children being bought, sold and used by pimps in our own communities. But the harrowing truth is that human trafficking is happening in our in our own neighborhoods and communities every day. In fact, nearly 20 thousand people are trafficked in the United States each year.

What people often don't realize is that homelessness - especially youth homelessness - is one of the major causes behind human trafficking. And here in the US we have a serious youth homelessness problem.

Across our communities too many children don't know where they will sleep on any given night, with youth shelters in short supply and often terribly underfunded. When a child doesn't have a roof over her head or any stability in her life, she becomes and easy target for pimps and traffickers.

We cannot let the issue of youth homelessness and trafficking stay under the radar in our country. any longer. Join us in calling on our representatives today to make ending youth homelessness and trafficking in our communities a top priority!
Dear [Representative],

It may be hard to imagine, but child trafficking and sexual exploitation is happening across the United States and in our own community every day. In fact, nearly 20 thousand people are trafficked in the United States each year, and the United States is the fasted growing country supporting human trafficking.

We cannot let this epidemic continue any longer.

I'm calling on you to help us stop ignoring human trafficking in the United States and start taking concrete steps to protect our children! Please, make ending youth homelessness and trafficking in our communities a top priority this year.
