In New York state,
a mother and daughter were apparently criminally neglecting 37 animals. It seems they had accumulated a wide collection of different types of animals, including 8 dogs, 4 cats, 14 chickens, 3 ducks, 2 turkeys, a rooster, a pig, and a rabbit.
Authorities had received multiple tips warning them of the neglectful situation, leading them to conduct an extensive investigation. Now, both women have been arrested and charged with 37 counts of failure to provide sustenance and a clean living environment, as well as "overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals."
Sign the petition to demand that authorities ban both women from owning, living with, or working with animals in the future! They must also mandate mental health services for both individuals! The home was apparently so overrun with feces, urine, and general filth that it had built up seriously high levels of ammonia inside. As a result, authorities actually couldn't enter safely on their own - they were required to bring in the county's
Hazmat Team.Authorities successfully rescued all animals before the situation escalated further, and all 37 are now receiving the necessary veterinary care. They have since condemned the home as unsafe for humans' or animals' presence.
Clearly, this woman and her daughter are not safe enough to entrust with animals in the future.
Authorities must protect other animals from such conditions and neglect. Help us to keep other animals safe by signing the petition demanding a full ban on ownership, living with, or working with animals again, and also mandatory mental health counseling!
