Keep Guns Out of the Hands of Stalkers and Domestic Abusers

Here's the reality: Every month, 48 women are shot and killed in the U.S. by a current or former boyfriend or spouse.
But we know that common-sense gun laws that keep guns out of the hands of stalkers, domestic abusers and other dangerous people will prevent gun violence and save women's lives. In fact, in states that require background checks for all handgun sales, 46 percent fewer women are shot to death by intimate partners.
But there's a bill in the US Senate that would reduce gun violence against women, and your senators can help make its passage a reality. Senator Amy Klobuchar recently reintroduced the Protecting Domestic Violence and Stalking Victims Act (S.1520), which would help keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers - and in order to be successful, this bill needs co-sponsors on both sides of the aisle.
S. 1520 would save women's lives by prohibiting domestic abusers and stalkers from buying or having guns. Now is the time to push our senators to support the bill - tell them to help save women's lives and keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers.
Tell your senator to co-sponsor the Protecting Domestic Violence and Stalking Victims Act.
