This petition is to bring awareness and immediate action to the case of Cleve Foster, inmate #999470, on Polunsky Death Row in Texas.
Cleve Foster is another innocent man on death row, condemned to be executed by the state of Texas for the crime of murder that he has not committed. Sheldon Ward, Co-Defendant also on Polunsky death row has done an audio tape and written statement of confession to the police, and also another written statement at the prison.
Although the State of Texas is aware of this, they refuse to set an innocent man free. With over 120 innocent inmates freed from death row, the State of Texas is holding Cleve Foster on death row.
Cleve's trial was shoddy, and jurors were mislead. The jurors were not allowed to hear about the confessions Ward did. Evidence was not produced, and information was withheld. Cleve was not found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and his trial should have resulted in a mistrial. The state of Texas is well aware of this but yet Cleve Foster was railroaded into death row.
We are not asking for a reduction in sentence, we are asking that the State of Texas, knowing what they know, with physical proof of guilt on the part of Sheldon Ward, release Cleve Foster at once.
The taxpayers of the state of Texas will be paying approximately 2.5 million dollars for an execution of an innocent man. This man has served 21 years in the Army of The United States, and is honorable, honest and, and is not a threat to society, we the undersigned believe he is innocent on Death Row.
