Tell Congress You Oppose HR7 And Other Extreme Abortion Coverage Bans

The House of Representatives just approved HR 7, a sweeping ban on abortion coverage. If signed into law, HR 7 would withhold federal insurance coverage of abortion, putting it out of reach for many. Denying Medicaid coverage of abortion forces one in four poor women to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term.

Tell Congress that you strongly oppose this extreme abortion coverage ban.

It's time to LIFT restrictions on abortion coverage, not enact extreme and dangerous bans. Why? Because politicians shouldn't be allowed to deny a woman's insurance coverage for abortion just because she's struggling to get by. When people can plan whether and when to have children, it's good for them, and good for the whole society.

Instead of sweeping bans, it's time for Congress to lift the restrictions on abortion coverage so women can make decisions based on what's best for their circumstances.

Write to your members of Congress and tell them you oppose HR 7 and want to lift the bans that deny abortion coverage. Our elected officials must know their constituents feel that this proposed law is a harsh attack on women struggling to make ends meet.
Dear [Member of Congress],

I am writing to urge you to stop denying abortion coverage to low-income women enrolled in Medicaid and oppose HR7 and any other attempts to deny federal insurance coverage of abortion.

When it comes to the most important decisions in life, such as becoming a parent, it is vital that a woman is able to consider all the options available to her, regardless of how little money she makes.

Please lift the restrictions on abortion coverage that interfere with a woman's ability to make her own health care decisions.

Thank you,
