Transit in Connecticut is facing significant challenges. The Special Transportation Fund (STF) is in a crisis. The STF needs $1 billion over the next five years or Connecticut will have to cut major transit programs, and raise bus and rail fares. No money in the STF means cuts in public transit. We are calling for the state to find a permanent way to fund the depleted STF for road and transit projects and services.
We, the undersigned, are urging the State of Connecticut General Assemble to take action and find a permanent way to fund the depleted Special Transportation Fund to ensure accessible, reliable and affordable public transit in Connecticut.
