The current care home system isn't working. Too many people are struggling to get a place in a good home near their family, and many end up stuck in a home that can't cope with their needs.
Right now, the care home population is already bigger than the City of Manchester. And it's set to grow even more over the coming years. By 2022 we estimate over 42,000 extra beds will be needed in England alone.
With parts of the UK already at breaking point, we need action now. We're calling on the competition regulator to confront the creaking care system, so that people get the care they deserve now and in the future.
