Tell Congress to Protect LGBT Students

84% of LGBT students experience harassment in school.

Recently, President Barack Obama directed his staff to draft an executive order that will ban the injustice and discrimination employees of federal contractors endure in the workplace. Isn't it time for Congress to follow suit and protect young people against discrimination in what should be a safe space… their own school?

So far, 182 Representatives and 39 Senators have sponsored the Student Non-Discrimination Act, which would help protect students from discrimination based on their actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity.

Ask your Representative and Senators to sign on!

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning young people around the United States and around the world have the right to safe and accepting environments, including schools. Yet over 8 out of 10 LGBT students have been experienced harassment and discrimination at school. We have to change that.

LGBT youth should be celebrated and loved for who they are. And June is a great month to work toward safe schools for all students!

Ask your members of Congress to co-sponsor the Student Non-Discrimination Act!
