Tell your Senators to pass the Equality Act!

No one's civil rights should depend on the state or zip code they live in — but in the 29 states without explicit anti-discrimination protections for sexual orientation and gender identity, LGBTQ people are at risk of being refused housing or evicted from their homes, kicked out of a business that's open to the public, denied health care, or denied government services simply because of who they are. But we can change that.

The Equality Act would expand protections for women, people of color, and people of all faiths, and close gaps and dangerous loopholes in our federal civil rights laws to ensure that everyone in America, including LGBTQ people, are protected from harassment and discrimination.

Everyone deserves a fair chance to live free from the fear of harassment or discrimination. Sign the petition to urge your Senators to pass the Equality Act today!
Dear Senator [Last],

My name is [First] [Last]. As your constituent, I'm writing to ask you to support freedom and equality for all Americans by passing the Equality Act.

I believe that everyone should be able to live free from harassment and discrimination. However, there are large gaps in federal civil rights law that leave many members of my community unprotected — including LGBTQ people, women, people of color, and people of all faiths. The Equality Act would modernize our civil rights laws and make sure that many everyday types of discrimination are against the law.

Every American deserves a fair shot and the opportunity to succeed — that's why we need the Equality Act. I stand with the over 400 major U.S. companies, 600 faith-based, health care, education and civil rights organizations, and the overwhelming majority of my fellow Americans in supporting this important legislation.

Can I count on you to vote YES on the Equality Act?

Sincerely,
[First] [Last]
