Stand up for refugees this winter

Imagine being forced to flee everything you've known, just to stay alive. You escape with just the clothes on your back.

Now imagine, after a long journey, you must face winter in a refugee camp. How will you keep the bitter cold out of your tent? Can your children go another month without a coat or gloves? Will you buy fuel to keep your home warm, or medicine for the baby — because you can't afford both.

For those living in informal settlements in places like Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, "home" is often a flimsy, makeshift shelter that offers little protection from snow, icy rain and below-freezing temperatures. With no way to earn income, and savings depleted long ago, many cannot afford food or heating fuel.

The UN Refugee Agency is on the ground providing protection, shelter, stoves, thermal blankets, healthcare and more. USA for UNHCR is connecting Americans like you to the critical work being done by the UN Refugee Agency to help refugees forced to flee, like those enduring another winter in the Bekaa Valley.

Show your compassion for those fleeing violence. Sign this petition and stand #WithRefugees. Use your voice to shine a light on the situation of refugees in winter and the plight of hundreds of thousands of children and families in need.
As an American, I believe we must help people in their time of greatest need. I believe refugees enduring winter should get the support necessary to survive the cold and rebuild their lives.

I stand with the UN Refugee Agency in its mission to reach everyone in need with lifesaving aid and protection.

I stand with the UN Refugee Agency to ensure every refugee child gets an education.

I stand with the UN Refugee Agency to ensure every refugee family has somewhere safe to live.

I stand with the UN Refugee Agency to ensure every refugee can work or learn new skills to make a positive contribution to their community.

I stand #WithRefugees.
