We, the undersigned parents and community members, say that it is time for you to give the Bellevue Educators Association a contract that meets their demands. You have heard the teachers' stories of the high cost of living in Sonoma County, of their concerns about being able to afford to live in or near Santa Rosa, of how teachers must take time out during class to help students who could be better served by a full-time, experienced counselor, and of teachers who were unable to pay their medical bills and had to get help from their parents. Please show our teachers that you care about the needs that they have expressed to you. As you know, many school districts in our county have recently agreed on new contracts with their teachers- we do not want to lose our teachers to other schools that offer higher wages.
The year-long battle over our teachers' new contract has gone on for far too long. You know how much money the District has available. You know that if our teachers walk out on strike, days of instruction will be missed, many students will not be in their seats, and funds for attendance will not be earned by our schools. Now please commit to spending that money and easing the minds of the teachers and families of this school district.

Nosotros, los padres y miembros de la comunidad, firmamos abajo para decir que ya es la hora que Ustedes ofrezcan a los Educadores Unidos de Bellevue (BEA) un contrato que responda a sus demandas. Uds. han oído los cuentos de los costos altos de vivir en el Condado de Sonoma - de sus preocupaciones sobre si pueden seguir pagando las rentas en y cerca de Santa Rosa; de como los maestros tienen que interrumpir la clase para ayudar a los estudiantes que necesitan la ayuda de un orientador o consejero con mucha experiencia que trabaje de tiempo completo; de la maestra quien no podía pagar sus facturas médicas y tuvo que pedir dinero de sus padres, y más.. Como Uds. saben, muchos distritos en el Condado recientemente han llegado a nuevos contratos con sus maestros - no queremos perder nuestros maestros a los distritos que ofrecen los salarios más altos.
La batalla de este último año sobre un nuevo contrato para nuestros maestros ha durado demasiado tiempo. Uds. saben cuanto dinero hay disponible en el distrito. Saben que si los maestros salen en una huelga, faltarán días de instrucción, muchos estudiantes no estarán en sus sillas, y que las escuelas no ganarán fondos por la asistencia de los estudiantes. Ahora, por favor, sigan su obligación de usar ese dinero para alievian las mentes de los maestros y las familias de este distrito escolar.
