Dogfighting is a violent business in which humans force pups to engage in brutal battles with each other, often resulting in heart-wrenching injuries such as broken bones and deep wounds, sometimes leading to death.
To force these animals to fight each other, humans inflict severe physical and psychological pain on the canines, training them to react to any stimuli with fear- and survival-based aggression. Why would anyone do this? For the supposed "fun" of watching two dogs tear each other to shreds - and for the money.
Yet that doesn't stop many people from continuing this horrific form of "entertainment" today. In early December 2023,
officials uncovered a large dogfighting ring in Mississippi - rescuing 29 dogs and seizing 13 vehicles from people who arrived to participate or watch.

Because it is such a cruel practice, dogfighting is a felony offense in Mississippi. Officials have arrested the man in charge of this criminal ring, and are continuing to investigate other participants.
Dogs should never be treated as disposable commodities. They are sentient beings with emotions, needs, and the ability to feel pain, and should be cared for with love and kindness.
