An extremist judge in Texas tried to single handedly block access to a critically important medication used for abortion. The anti-abortion judge, with no medical background, questioned the drug's safety, and ordered the FDA to undo its approval, even though the FDA approved it long ago, and it has been used safely for decades.
While this battle continues in the courts, we can't sit back and watch extremist judges rule over our access to medication with no medical or scientific knowledge to back it up. We need Congress to step up and pass a law to protect abortion medication for good.
Thankfully, two Democrats in the House just introduced a bill to do just that. The Protecting Reproductive Freedom Act would reaffirm the FDA's final approval authority on medication abortion and continue to allow providers to prescribe the abortion pill via telehealth.
These pills are safe and reliable. We must fight to ensure they stay that way. Demand Congress pass the Protecting Reproductive Freedom Act so we have explicit protections for abortion pills in place >>
