Demand Franklin Square Cinema Show Black Films, Black Culture, And Films With Predominantly Black Casts

Frankfort is the Capital City of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, as well as the administrative center of Franklin County. It is located in the Southern United States; the population in 2010 grew to 25,527.

In 2016 Frankfort, Ky. was named one of the Best Cities for African Americans. The city also is home to an HBCU, Kentucky State University. The city's population had a spike of twenty-one percent of African American citizens. Even Forbes named Frankfort in the top Southern Small City for families in 2010.

Despite those facts, the local movie theater; Franklin Square Cinema has not shown black films.

The amount of Black Cinema breaking through has become astonishing. So why do KYSU students and the community have to travel to other nearby theaters or go to Cincinnati to see black films, films about black culture, or films with predominantly black cast?
