Governor Cuomo: Make Ending Hunger In New York a Top Priority!

Imagine sending your child to school without breakfast, forgoing your medication to buy food, or skipping meals just to pay for everyday expenses like rent, childcare, a Metrocard or medical bills. That's the reality many New Yorkers face every day.

"Food security" means access by all people at all times to enough food for an active, healthy life. However, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, over 2.5 million New York State residents, or 12.6%, are instead considered food insecure and are struggling to put food on the table. New York City residents alone make up over half (51%) of all food insecure people living in the state.

We must fight for a day when every New Yorker – from Buffalo to NYC – has the food they need to live healthy lives.

Urge Governor Cuomo to make food security and the health of our children a top priority.
