Shanghai Wildlife Park - Close it now!
We call on the President of the People's Republic of China, Hu Jintao to close the Shanghai Wildlife Park and put an end to" The Shanghai Animal Olympics" currently in it's 4th year.

We have recieved news that the Animal Olympics held at the Wildlife Park in Shanghai has been cancelled due to complaints from the public!
We do however still want the Wildlife Park to close due to it's ill treatment of animals that are still made to perform there on a daily basis.

Born Free's Shirley Galligan added " This is degrading for the animals, insulting to our intelligence and a disaster for any possible chance of increasing respect for the wild animals we share the world with. The Shanghai Animal Olympics is about domination and manipulation".
These events amongst others took place
A bear was made to ride a motorbike on a trapeze.
Kangaroo's were made to fight each other and against human's.
Various animals were dressed up in costumes.
Live animals thrown to tigers for the crowd's amusement.
We want this to be the last ever Animal Olympics!
