Ban the Slaughter of Downed Animals!

At stockyards, factory farms, and slaughterhouses across the country, hundreds of thousands of "downed" farm animals — those who are unable to stand or walk on their own — are exploited annually for food production. These afflicted animals are often beaten, dragged, or shocked on the way to slaughter. Many others are left to suffer for hours before being killed. These sick individuals can also end up on kitchen tables or school lunch trays. It's time to end this abuse!

Farm Sanctuary is suing the USDA to extend the ban on the slaughter and processing of "downed" cattle to also cover pigs. But we urgently need your help.

Please join Farm Sanctuary in speaking out against this abuse. Send a message telling President Joe Biden and U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to protect ALL downed animals today -- with no exceptions!
Dear President Biden and Secretary Vilsack,

Every year, hundreds of thousands of pigs, goats, sheep, and other farm animals will be pushed beyond their physical limits until they can no longer stand or walk. These "downed" animals are often beaten, dragged by their ears or tails, and shocked with electric prods to get them onto the kill floor so they can be slaughtered for human consumption.

No living being should suffer like this.

Please direct the U.S. Department of Agriculture to extend the federal ban on the slaughter of downed cattle to include ALL animals who are so sick, injured, or weak that they can't even stand or walk. Thank you for taking urgent action on this serious matter.
