Stop the Department of Planning from implementing the current Swan Valley Development Plan to build retirement housing in Herne hill

Family homes, an old heritage church, and a day care center along with a partof foot ball oval will be demolished to make way for greedy and influential developers to ply their craft and change the rural and unique atmosphere of the Swan Valley.

While the draft plan strategy says in effect that it has a vision for the 'continued growth of the food, beverage and tourism industry' , nothing is further from the truth. It's strategy is rather to shift the wine industry image from 'high production volumes' to a 'more exclusive product' to ' attract greater interest from independent liqueur stores and more exclusive wine outlets' (Swan Valley Development Plan 2015.) The truth in fact is that good old family life and the values of industry and hard work will be the crowning factors of economic growth and beauty in the valley.
