Break the Cycle of Poverty and Hunger in Africa

In 2003 African leaders made a bold commitment to invest in agriculture, food security and rural development, setting a goal of spending at least 10% of national budgets on these priorities. While some have made notable progress, others have fallen short.

Leaders are meeting soon in Addis Ababa for the 2012 African Union Summit. We need them to recommit to smarter investments in agriculture and new investments in nutrition to help break the vicious cycle of poverty and hunger.

Sign the petition urging African leaders to recommit to investing in agriculture and nutrition.

Dear African leaders,

It's time to break the vicious cycle of hunger and poverty.

When you meet in Addis Ababa please recommit to investing in agriculture and nutrition to help pull 31 million Africans out of poverty and save 12 million children from stunting.

Sincerely,
