Change University of North Dakota College of Nursing Exams to Unproctored/ open book during remote instruction times

Colleges and universities across the nation have suspended in class activities and have switched to online based learning. These same colleges and universities have also acknowledged that this is a strange time we are living in and most have converted exams to open book/ non proctored. It is not from an unwillingness to learn and put in the work that we ask for these exams to be switched to open book/ non proctored- but to adjust to these stressful circumstances and promote an optimal and fair learning experience to the students in these trying times. Speaking for myself personally, I can say that it is tough to study the way I need to for these exams when I am social distancing at home and not in my same college environment. Others are in the same circumstances and an open book format on exams until school is reopened again would not necessarily ruin the integrity or difficulty of the exam or classes. Student across the nation are all facing similar experiences and teachers are all adapting as needed. This would be a needed adaptation to the times we are facing- which is what we must constantly do as nurses- assess our situation and adapt to them as needed.
