Sign to show you disagree with Augusta County Commonwealth not sentencing TINA MATHENY to more than 15 years for the MURDER of Peggy Woods

The local justice system is so backwards!
Peggy Woods convicted killer Tina Matheny was offered 15 years with possibility of less if judge agrees Matheny is to "fragile" physically and menatlly to withstand her prison term!!! Since when does it matter if you are old, mental, or scared of prison that the system takes it into consideration when sentencing a killer??!?!?!?

Although in recent years here are a few trials that prove the justice system has no real sentencing guidlines that they abide by to insure the punishment meets the crime!

-Charlie Almond is 85 years old and the jury found guilty of first degree murder in the 1983 (34 year old case) disappearance of Richard "Pete" Miller. The sentence was life in prison.
(HE IS NOT GETTING A SENTENCE REDUCTION or SUSPENSION, of any kind due to his "fragile" state!!!)

-A Staunton father faces more than 20 years in prison after being found guilty for the murder of his 6-year-old son. A Staunton Circuit Court jury found 25-year-old Steven Decker guilty of second-degree murder and child abuse Wednesday evening.

-Isaiah D. Stuart, convicted of second-degree murder in the slaying of Julian Parrott, is led out of the Cochran Judicial Center following his sentencing hearing in Staunton on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016. Stuart was sentenced 30 years, 10 of which have been suspended

-A jury has recommended a sentence of life in prison for Charles Melvin Spencer for the first-degree murder of his wife, JoAnne Spencer, in 2003. (14 year old case)

-A Virginia man has been convicted of first-degree murder more than three years after his wife died of antifreeze poisoning. The News Leader reports a jury found 69-year-old David Vatter of Verona guilty this week and recommended a life sentence.

-Anderson faced up to 90 years in prison, but a judge sentenced her to 43 years of incarceration with all time suspended. She will have to serve 43 years of probation, including five years of supervised probation according to Sweet. Shelia Anderson entered guilty pleas on six felony counts Thursday, including three counts of embezzlement and three counts of forgery/uttering. She was indicted by a grand jury last fall.

-Comer was sentenced to 20 years in 2007 for a conviction on aiding and abetting in the possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.

Someone pls tell me where it is acceptable to spend more time incarcerated for DRUGS, DRIVING, EMBEZZLEMENT, or even Assaulting someone versus MURDER idc what degree, murder is murder you took someone life!!!!

**Proportionality requires that the level of punishment be related to the severity of the offending behaviour. An accurate reading of the biblical phrase "an eye for an eye" in Exodus and Leviticus is said to be: 'only one eye for one eye',[5] or "an eye in place of an eye". However, this does not mean that the punishment has to be equivalent to the crime. A retributive system must punish severe crimes more harshly than minor crimes, but retributivists differ about how harsh or soft the system should be overall. The crime's level of severity can also be determined in different ways. Severity can be determined by the amount of harm, unfair advantage or the moral imbalance the crime caused.

So with this being said please sign Justice for Peggy Woods petition so the family can show they are not alone in feeling the punishment doesnt meet the crime, and they can show the Commonwealth the support they have from their community!!
