We have Ryan’s back! Encourage the NFL to Increase Prostate Cancer Awareness

In memory of his best friend—his grandfather Pepaw—12-year-old Ryan Brown is urging the National Football League (NFL) to bring attention to an incredibly important issue: prostate cancer.

While watching an NFL game on a Sunday morning, Ryan noticed the players wore pink to raise breast cancer awareness, and turned to his mother and asked: "why doesn't the NFL have a month for prostate cancer, too?"

Ryan wrote a letter to every NFL team to share his wish that the league would support prostate cancer awareness. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 7 men - yet many are unaware of the risk!

"I just wanted to tell them about my grandfather Pepaw and bring awareness to prostate cancer by giving them the statistics. So if even one person decides to learn more or get screened, that would be enough for me."

The Prostate Cancer Foundation is teaming up with Ryan to bring his important message to the NFL. As the leading group funding prostate cancer research, and producing educational material about prostate cancer prevention, screening, and treatment, we fully support Ryan—and hope you will join us.

Take the pledge for Ryan Brown. Tell this young man that we have his back, and urge the NFL to dedicate September to prostate cancer awareness!
Dear Commissioner Goodell,

We have Ryan's back! Please support his efforts to raise prostate cancer awareness.

Prostate cancer affects 1 in 7 men, and is the second leading cause of cancer death, behind lung cancer.

The NFL has done a great job of raising breast cancer awareness - will they do the same for prostate cancer? September is Prostate Cancer Awareness month, and along with Ryan, we urge the NFL show their support and bring awareness to a disease that affects so many men each year.
