Protect Arctic Alaska from Drilling

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) is a place like no other. Its spectacular wilderness of boreal forests, rugged mountains and wild rivers makes this a place of unparalleled beauty; so wild that one may walk for days without seeing signs of another human being.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service calls the Refuge's Coastal Plain "the center for wildlife activity." However, the Coastal Plain is the epicenter of the drilling debate, and right now, this land is not permanently protected! This means that grizzlies, caribou, wolves and more than 200 other wildlife species may lose their vital habitat if we don't act now to protect this critically important environment.

We must protect this beautiful landscape. Send a letter urging your members of Congress to support wilderness protection for the coastal plain, and ensure the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge remains forever wild.
Dear Decision Maker,

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge's designation. This is the year that Congress should pass wilderness legislation to permanently protect the biological heart of the Refuge, its coastal plain. Please co-sponsor H.R. 39, the Udall-Eisenhower Arctic Wilderness Act.

The Arctic Refuge is a place like no other. It supports more than 200 wildlife species, including large populations of caribou, bears, musk ox, and millions of migratory birds. The Coastal Plain of the Refuge is also the most significant on-shore polar bear denning habitat in the U.S. This denning habitat is ever more important as global warming melts the sea ice that polar bears depend on.

Please support H.R. 39, the Udall-Eisenhower Arctic Wilderness Act, and help to continue our nation's great legacy of protecting special places for future generations of Americans.

If you've already co-sponsored the bill, then thank you!
